Remembering Ron ‘Pigpen’ McKernan With 10 Early Grateful Dead Performances [Listen]

I never got to see the Dead with Pig Pen…my first show was a few years after he was replaced, when Keith and Donna joined the Band. I didn’t really know what I was was missing until I started to collect live show recordings a few years later and was like… “What’s this?!? This doesn’t sound like the Grateful Dead!” not realizing why it sounded so different…so bluesy, so raw…why? One guy…and a whole lot of rockin’ soul.
After that, I couldn’t stop listening to Bear’s Choice. It became my favorite Dead album…for a while. I don’t think I have an actual favorite Dead album now, but at any given time there’s always one you just have to hear. Over and over. Really Loud.
Bears Choice is THE Pig Pen album in my opinion.
Whether you love the Pig…or have never heard the Grateful Dead with him on keyboard, vocals and harmonica…you gotta check out the live tracks in this link!

Get Outta My Head! | Jamie Gray – March 07, 2020 at 12:37PM

I’m an old independent. I remember a different Republican party. 100% different from what it has shamefully evolved into. Once upon a time, there were actually progressive Republicans.
Where are they now? I challenge you to name ONE progressive Republican since Teddy Roosevelt.

Army of 100,000 ducks deployed to combat locust infestation

The Chinese came up with an interesting approach to a plague of locusts…a hungry duck army. Will it work or will they find themselves ass deep in duck shit? #ArmyOfDucks

Trump offered to pardon Assange if he covered up Russian interference in US election, court told

Uggh. More bribery and extortion. A pardon offered in exchange for evidence that clears Russia of hacking DNC, which helped Trump win the election. And has been PROVEN by evidence gathered by Mueller.
Also, dangling a pardon in exchange for ANYTHING is not legal; a clear abuse of presidential power.

this just sucks that the GOP is so far gone as to approve of this abuse of the highest and, supposedly most honorable, office on the planet. we need a new conservative party that respects the rule of law, and we need it yesterday imo
