Exhausted junior doctors could increase patients’ risk from medical mistakes, report warns

Um, you think? No one performs their best when completely exhausted. The grueling rigors of medical training in the USA are NOT making better doctors…only more profit for ‘teaching’ hospitals, as they exploit the fuck out of medical interns and residents.
Would you fly on a plane if the pilots were forced to work 48+ hour shifts where they may or may not get nap breaks in flight? Would you send your kids off to school on a bus driven by an intern who is being forced to prove they can operate the vehicle on 3-4 hours sleep per night? Sure you would.
Now I don’t know about you, but I would rather my doctors…and pilot or school bus driver…get their full 8 hours of sleep before every shift.
