Singer-songwriter John Prine dies from coronavirus aged 73

Very sad news today, as one of the world’s greatest songwriters, John Prine, passes away from CoronaVirus. Not sure any amount of weed smoked can produce that ‘Illegal Smile’ today…but I’m certainly going to try.
Each and every bong hit today will be dedicated to you, John. Thank you for ALL the musical love. ?

New York hair and nail salons to shut, but booze deemed ‘essential’

It’s good to know that no matter what happens here in #Connecticut, right across the border in #NewYork they’ve got their priorities straight. Assuming they don’t close the State borders or something.

Look…we all get why we gotta stay home, but you can’t expect us to do it without all the #booze we decide we require, damn it! I mean, that’s just more than any human could be expected to endure.

It’s abundantly clear that #Coronavirus is pushing humanity right to the edge of civilized existence. We must resist at all costs, and strive to stay human during this crisis of human civilization!

Don’t Sit a Mannequin on an Airbag – The Slow Mo Guys

How’s everyone doing?
Self isolation got ya down?
Wondering what the hell we’re going to do with ourselves for the next 8 weeks…or longer? Yeah we are.
But hey…Who doesn’t love a good Slow-Mo guys video on a shivery Containment Zone afternoon?
It’s more fun than killing your neighbors for roll of toilet paper.

Remembering Ron ‘Pigpen’ McKernan With 10 Early Grateful Dead Performances [Listen]

I never got to see the Dead with Pig Pen…my first show was a few years after he was replaced, when Keith and Donna joined the Band. I didn’t really know what I was was missing until I started to collect live show recordings a few years later and was like… “What’s this?!? This doesn’t sound like the Grateful Dead!” not realizing why it sounded so different…so bluesy, so raw…why? One guy…and a whole lot of rockin’ soul.
After that, I couldn’t stop listening to Bear’s Choice. It became my favorite Dead album…for a while. I don’t think I have an actual favorite Dead album now, but at any given time there’s always one you just have to hear. Over and over. Really Loud.
Bears Choice is THE Pig Pen album in my opinion.
Whether you love the Pig…or have never heard the Grateful Dead with him on keyboard, vocals and harmonica…you gotta check out the live tracks in this link!
