Remembering John Perry Barlow: The 25 Principles Of Adult Behavior

Barlow was not only an inspired songwriter, but also a huge human being, whom we lost in 2018…way, WAY too soon. Below, his inspired coming of age list of principles to live by, “Principles Of Adult Behavior”. I double dog dare you to refute even one.

Principles Of Adult Behavior
1. Be patient. No matter what.
2. Don’t bad-mouth: Assign responsibility, not blame. Say nothing of another you wouldn’t say to him.
3. Never assume the motives of others are, to them, less noble than yours are to you.
4. Expand your sense of the possible.
5. Don’t trouble yourself with matters you truly cannot change.
6. Expect no more of anyone than you can deliver yourself.
7. Tolerate ambiguity.
8. Laugh at yourself frequently.
9. Concern yourself with what is right rather than who is right.
10. Never forget that, no matter how certain, you might be wrong.
11. Give up blood sports.
12. Remember that your life belongs to others as well. Don’t risk it frivolously.
13. Never lie to anyone for any reason. (Lies of omission are sometimes exempt.)
14. Learn the needs of those around you and respect them.
15. Avoid the pursuit of happiness. Seek to define your mission and pursue that.
16. Reduce your use of the first personal pronoun.
17. Praise at least as often as you disparage.
18. Admit your errors freely and soon.
19. Become less suspicious of joy.
20. Understand humility.
21. Remember that love forgives everything.
22. Foster dignity.
23. Live memorably.
24. Love yourself.
25. Endure.

This Lake Looks Like a Christmas Tree From Space – Geek.com

A belated Merry Christmas to all, and best wishes for the Holidays and an awesome New Year! 2018 has been a tough year for me, and it’s left me feeling like I’m constantly struggling to get through, disconnected from…well just about everything and everyone.
But I’m not here to whine or apologize about that, or make New Year’s resolutions (that may or may not be kept) about doing things differently next year. I’m here to say #ThankYou.
Thank you to everyone who has ever been a part of my world…old friends and new, online and off, near and far away. I wish every one of you all the happiness and love you all deserve in the coming year. You are all in my thoughts and will always be in my heart, and though we may be apart in time and space, we will always be as one in the music and memories that last forever.
I hope see you all soon; somewhere, somehow, some way, in these uncertain and crazy times, and I truly wish that 2019 will be the best year ever for all of us! Thanks for being you…you’re exactly who you’re supposed to be, and you’re all special to someone, even if you don’t know it.
Happy Holidays and much love to all!! ;~jg

Police officer buys presents for family whose car broke down on Christmas Eve

Sometimes we forget. Maybe because a few bad apples give cops a bad name. Maybe because the bad ones are the ones that usually make the news. But not all cops are busy shooting unarmed black people…there are plenty of good cops who are truly awesome human beings, who serve and protect…and go above and beyond. This UK officer gets my vote for Santa’s holiday hero!
