Waze offers carpool rides like Lyft and Uber, but for way less

Maybe one day, Waze will remember my ‘friends’ so I can easily share my drive, rather than present me with my ENTIRE phone book every fucking time I try.
Until then, I think I’ll pass on diving into a Waze carpool, just because it’s the cheap option.

Yoko Ono releases new version of John Lennon’s Imagine

First she breaks up the band. Now she thinks she’s got the right to sing covers. Well…she probably does…but that doesn’t mean I have to listen. No thanks.
Yes, I DO know I’m being a dickhead about it, and no, I don’t care.

Facebook Made You a Smart-Home Device With a Camera on It

Oh HELL no, Facebook! 50 million accounts hacked (just the latest breach) and privacy concerns with third parties are already a huge issue. Now you want to put IP cameras in our homes, watching and listening to everything we say and do?

Carbon Tax. Carbon Tax. Carbon Tax.

No. No. No.
Taxing energy means taxing EVERYTHING, and becomes a tax on productivity, making even green energy and resultant products more expensive. The net effect is SLOWING adoption of cleaner power while guaranteeing continued profits for big oil and carbon based energy companies.
By taxing carbon, we will only make energy more expensive for consumers, as big business will always pass the cost on. Instead, we should reward “good behaviour” and use consumer boycotts and social pressure to help reinforce the rewards.
Making gasoline more expensive through taxation comes directly out of the pockets of the consumers who can’t choose change…because they afford electric cars, for example. Instead, force change through social pressure and tax cuts for companies that embrace change and employ green energy…making green energy, and products made with it, cheaper than carbon fuels.
Assuming all else equal, why would I buy a gas powered car if electric cars were cheaper to own and operate? I wouldn’t.
Make doing the right thing the cheapest thing and you win…make everything more expensive, and change will just take longer, while energy companies reap record government guaranteed profits.
