Are We Losing The Human Race?

“The Human Race is to Be One” -jamie gray

It doesn’t matter to me what name you call God. Every religion has a different name, but logically, if God is responsible for our existence, odds are there’s only one God that has many names. How many all powerful all knowing beings could there be?!

Of course, no matter what name you pin on this Mystical Master of the Universe, an all powerful and all knowing God is either not what he claims to be, or just a fucking asshole. What kind of ‘all powerful’ ‘all knowing’ leader who COULD protect his creations from suffering, but instead prefers to let His ‘human race project subjects’ (us humans) suffer?

Why? Just to teach them a lesson or prove their faith in their God…as some cruel test of allegiance…?! WHAT AN ASSHOLE!

Unless They (God) are just lying, and They have LIMITED ability or knowledge to help us. In which case, They’re an EVEN BIGGER ASSHOLE! ‘Worship me. Even though I can’t ACTUALLY do shit to help you.’ What a douche. THAT God is probably lying about creating us too…taking credit for someone else’s work. Satan maybe?

Lucifer’s Final Season Begins SOON on Netflix! http://netflix.com (NOT an Ad, just personal excitement).

It’s pretty clear to me, that any True God would have to be an Energy source. That energy that courses through us, our life force. Our ‘souls’. I believe humans can learn to unite together to harness ‘God’s Energy’, or they can work against each other, against that positive Energy of growth and enlightenment; draining that force in order to dismantle their(our) own very existence.

All the religions say that too…be a force for good. That is a pretty universal concept.

Unfortunately, leaders of most religions simply use fear and reward instead, to coerce and manipulate their followers. They have a recipe. Rules are enforced. Compliance brings enlightenment. Resistance brings never-ending suffering.

The masses fall in line, behind Gurus, Popes and Imans. A Universal quest for spirituality becomes a challenge of fealty, a promise of reward for blind devotion, or pain if you don’t follow the rules. So few religions try to teach anything close to any ‘Truth’.

With us or against us? True believer or heritic? You can’t be one of them AND one of US. That’s their only Truth.

Maybe it’s just me, but that seems more human than Godly. An all powerful, all knowing God wouldn’t demand worship. They wouldn’t have to threaten us. We’d know God by Her works. The rules would be baked into our consciences. The Earth would be a paradise.

Oh, I forgot. We’re NOT WORTHY. We don’t DESERVE to live in a paradise, because 50,000 years ago somebody lied, SINNED, and God’s been holding it against us ever since. What a dick!

No…He’s actually a bigger dick than that because, according to some folks, he sent His Son, Jesus to become human and be TORTURED and MURDERED by evil humans, yet that somehow made Him a ‘righteous offering to Him’, that somehow allows us to be FORGIVEN for that original sin, after thousands of years…FINALLY.

Except, no. We STILL have to wait for some reason, until the Earth is an Apocalyptic nightmare, an indeterminate 1000s of somedays later, suffering and paying for those sins right up to the last day, without any help from Him?!?! Yeah, THAT God deserves a righteous FUCK YOU! Sorry if it sounds a little like your God. Maybe somebody fibbed to you?

The primary ‘works’ that we see of modern religions are crusades of intolerance and murder, wars ‘In God’s Name’ to protect territory or resources, like oil.

We see rules that defy common sense, in order to comply with taboos defined by an ancient interpretation of selected historical documents. A subjective, human interpretation, that fits the political agenda of the interpretor. The agenda of some sect of whatever religion they pushing to gain more political power, so they can impose THEIR rules on more people…for their own good, of course.

An Aware-Wolf

Religion is simply politics. Spirituality is universal. But no one seems to know the difference anymore. Probably because they’ve been brainwashed by generations of doctrines and bullshit, into believing that our leaders know what they’re doing. Spoonfed an easy path to nirvana…just follow the rules. Listen to us…we’ll make it easy for you.

But it’s NOT easy. Suddenly, we look around and it’s crystal clear to even the blindest of us, that leadership doesn’t necessarily mean wisdom, and that power corrupts.

“Religion…is a smile on a dog”
What I Am | Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians

Because it’s religion we’re taught, not spirituality.

Doing things ‘In God’s Name’ should mean helping people. Ensuring no one goes hungry. No one is deprived of food, medicine or clothing. Working for peace on earth, not Israel’s right to exist. Dedication to education and science, preserving our home planet. Taking care of one another and the precious Earth we live on, rather than pulling us apart from each other, dividing us by our differences.

Diversity is strength, and racial purity is another big lie anyway. There is no gene for race. There are just many genes rearranged differently in each of us, every one unique as a fucking snowflake…but much less fragile.

Buddy Christ be With You

Which is good, because it’s pretty clear God’s either not able or willing to help, so we’re on our own down here…at least until we figure out that we’re All in this Together, so we can truly harness the Energy of God: Unity in Our Diversity.

Can we save our planet? Is it too late?

Several nations are threatened with extinction due to climate change.

Maybe the climate deniers were wrong.
Maybe the scientists were wrong, too, and it’s MUCH WORSE than they thought.
Maybe it IS too late.
But maybe it’s not.
Even if the experts were sure it’s too late.
Maybe they’re wrong. ~jg

Problems Solved. Available for hire.

I solve problems. I believe have a solution to everything. It’s who I am at the core, I suppose. Please don’t judge me if I try to solve yours.

When I look at the absolute mess in Washington DC, I see problems that need solving. Unfortunately, politicians aren’t very good at solving problems…at least not without creating more problems. Bigger ones usually. Expensive ones, dangerous ones, that cost us all.

“The US Capitol stands for what We The People are willing to sacrifice for the greater good.” ~jg

To me, things seem simple. There are gray areas, but by and large, there are simple, obvious solutions to every problem we face. We know must face them, but thanks to our bullshit pay-to-play political system, we usually choose to wait until it’s a fucking emergency.

Because God forbid we take one unnecessary fucking penny of profits from our corporate overlords. The economy will come crashing down and everyone will lose their jobs, if Amazon stock doesn’t continue to rise.

Well, Bezos can blast himself into space and fucking stay there, as far as I’m concerned. He’s a fucking pirate. No one should make billions of dollars in a pandemic. Even if it’s not TAXABLE income (so it doesn’t really count anyway). Give it BACK!

“Bezos can blast himself into space and fucking stay there, as far as I’m concerned. He’s a fucking pirate.”

I truly believe we can solve all of our problems. But the American people need to become engaged in our government. The People should vote for Solutions, not for people who make those choices for us, based on bribes (that’s what political donations really are) from powerful people and businesses.

We can hold Congress accountable to the vote of the people on those ISSUES. Right now, career politicians only REALLY answer to the fat cats who bankroll their elite lifestyles, and pay for their manipulative political propaganda.

And…Oh yeah. We gotta stop electing lawyers and career politicians. Congress should be people like you and me, who serve a term or two and do the best job they can for ALL of the Country (not just their party). Then they go back to their lives as teachers, truck drivers, and chefs. Lawyers shouldn’t make laws. They can write the laws AFTER regular people tell them what we want the Law to MEAN.

Bottom Line? We’ll solve a fucktonne of problems with TWO easy fixes. Get rid of political contributions, and implement term limits for every elected office. Simple shit, man.

But what do I know. I’m just a guy on a couch. ~jg

Gulf Stream crisis study: Atlantic pessimism fit for a disaster movie

This is really a BIG deal… No #GulfStream means everything coastal must change. Or die.

This is really a BIG deal. The Gulf Stream current is THE key to the marine and estuary foodchain up and down the US East Coast. No #GulfStream means everything coastal must change. Or die. Everything.

Because, Climate change is real. It doesn’t even really matter whether you believe we humans are the cause. What matters is that we CAN do something about it. We can change. For the better, if we CHOOSE to. We can CHANGE, to a sustainable, climate neutral lifestyle.

Fuck all the arguments against…we’ve heard them: Not practical. Expensive. Will cause unemployment. #YadaYadaYada

They simply are false. Political fear tactics by powerful entities with something to lose if we move away from oil, gas, and coal. Entities that pay very little in taxes and make millions in profits because we don’t have affordable, clean and green choices to THEIR products. They are a cartel. A monopoly, with many allies in Congress, thanks to the legal bribery we call our political $ystem…but I digress from my point. Sorry.

Choosing Earth-Friendy energy and green products shouldn’t be the more expensive, alternative choice. It should be the ONLY choice. It should be affordable and easy for ALL. Everyone.

Is the Gulfstream Current threatened by climate change?

Politicians want us to believe we’ll all suffer if we choose the sustainable, climate friendly, non-fossil-fuel-based options. In truth, for MOST of us…most of our lives will improve. New sustainable industries will grow the economy, promote innovation and create jobs. Hopefully they’ll pay taxes, too. More for everyone.

Only the super-sized, dino-energy shilling, tax-avoiding parasite corporations (oil gas & coal corps…you know who they are) and their comrades in oil (read: business partners) will suffer.

For awhile, anyway. Until those oil-slick corporate barons figure out another way to royally fuck us all up the ass. Sustainably. ~jg

Kids in the bar? As long as they aren’t a nightmare.

#IMO I don’t think adults should be barred from most bars due to the presence of their offspring (UNDER SUPERVISION BEHAVING WELL).
Parenting is hard. Mastery of substance abuse is foundational to your success.?

As a caveat, there are some places kids just don’t belong. You know the places I mean. There are also some simple courtesies that must be followed.

Take responsibility. And take your screaming babies outside while I’m eating, or especially if there is live music. It’s just rude. Overall, control your fucking kids. They should behave like human beings, not crazed pack animals…and keep them away from the booze. They are YOUR responsibility, and the bar is within their rights to kick you and your unholy brood to the curb if anyone gets drunk or stupid, so DON’T.

And if you don’t have kids, don’t be a dick to people who bring their beloved block chips to the bar. Treat the little fuckers like they deserve to be there until they don’t. At least treat their parents like the thirsty fools they are, and cut ’em some slack for taking the hard road.

Parenting is hard. Alcohol and herbs make it softer and easier to swallow.

Jamie’s thoughts are his own.

Just Thinking…by Jamie Gray 2020-10-13T18:02:32.000Z

I’m not a fan of court packing. Joe Biden just said it (finally). I’ll say it too, because I’m not either. But I’m also not a fan of a polarized, political Supreme Court. Our very democracy depends on the wisdom of impartial, non-partisan justices to evaluate our laws against the template for our government: The Constitution. Nothing is more important.

Full disclosure time. Politically, I’m an apolitical Independent. Given a choice, I’ll stay out of politics. These days, I don’t feel like I have much choice. Life is scary, and I don’t trust ANYONE in power right now more than I trust the American people to #DemandBetter from their leaders. I’m voting for Joe, because the comparison isn’t even close.

Now…assuming the Republicans push through their latest SCOTUS nominee, pushing the Nation’s highest court ‘hard right’, I think court packing could be a solution for the next President. Importantly, I’m not suggesting that Democrats’ pack the court with “liberal” justices to balance out the damage done by the Republicans. No, that would just escalate things, and the makeup of the court will not improve. Instead, Dems need to take the Constitutional high ground, and assuming they gain control of the Senate and Presidency, Democrats need to work to make the court better for everyone, and make sure there’s no reason for the GOP to retaliate.

How you ask? Sounds impossible? Maybe.
But I have some ideas.

Let’s add two new justices. BUT, first, change the laws so that a 2/3 vote is required to confirm ALL lifetime judicial appointments, ensuring the 2 new justices, and all future appointments, will be bipartisan. As they should be. This is America. Courts MUST be impartial and independent.

Adding two new bipartisan judges will add a great deal of balance to the current court, which will still lean slightly conservative, while expanding the 9 seat bench to 11. By making it a law, it will require both houses of Congress and The President to change it…because it should NOT be left up to the Senate to just change the rules on these important appointments, as it is now.

The appointment process can still be changed in the future (hopefully for the better, and with bipartisan agreement) but the temptations..and ability…for one party to try to change the law just to gain a majority in the independent, apolitical and non-partisan high court will certainly shrink.

It’s time we all start thinking about the bigger picture. Beyond politics and parties. It’s time we remember that we can Make America Better, because going backwards is NEVER an actual option. MAGA is just the fear that things can’t get any better than they used to be, and we shouldn’t sell out our future
to fear.

I plan to vote for the future, because MAGA, like everything else that comes from Trump, is a lie.~jg

Footnote: Even if Biden doesn’t have a democratic majority in both houses of Congress, he could still plausibly sell this to some conservative Republicans who still believe in the sanctity of the Supreme Court. Getting it through as a bipartisan effort would be difficult, but Biden says he can work across the aisle…I guess we’ll see
