april already?

well a lot of stuff is going on this month. first, there’s a brand new song available for download…shows in western connecticut and new york…and more to come

i guess it is. wow…if you don’t pay attention, time just disappears on you. happy easter for those who celebrate it. happy spring to all!

well a lot of stuff is going on this month. first, there’s a brand new song available for download from my vault. it’s called “Goodbye” and is available for purchase here. if you can’t or don’t want to pay, that’s OK too…it can be streamed and downloaded from here (for free): http://www.reverbnation.com/jamiegray

next, if you are in the western connecticut area, i’ll be playing at open mic nite at the georgetown saloon on tuesday 4/13…sometime between 7:30 and…whenever. on the 17th i’ll be playing with will king back at the coffee labs roasters in tarrytown, new york 8-10pm. that show will be broadcast on blogTV.com if you can’t make it in person. then on the 29th will and i will be playing on the western connecticut state university campus around 9pm, and that show will be re-broadcast on WXCI radio (and via their internet site) the following sunday afternoon (5/2).

will and i have been enjoying playing each others music, and are hoping to announce some other shows really soon. we’ve even talked about some studio work…nothing planned yet, but…

now for the tough news…i am really not sure i can keep playing the thursday night shows on blogTV. this thursday, 4/8 there will NOT be a show. i am not sure yet about 4/15. i know that a whole bunch of you will be disappointed, and i promise i’ll try. be sure to join the mailing lists and subscribe to the blogTV channel so you hear about upcoming and spontaneous shows…they may not all be on thursday nights.

i really have to apologize to everyone. last thursday night was a pretty screwed up show…and that’s actually a big part of my decision. i simply don’t want to broadcast if i can’t give you guys my best. i’ve got a lot of distractions and conflicts right now…and also i want to take some time to focus on recording some material for you, and maybe make a few new videos. so, i’m sorry if i can’t make every thursday night for awhile. i will make some…and maybe some other nights, so be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out.

i probably don’t say it enough, but you all mean a lot to me and i think of everyone of you as friends. i’m going to keep playing for you, and making new music…i promise. i just hope you all bear with me during these crazy and trying times. and for those of you musicians, i’m sorry if i don’t make your shows on blogTV…i will keep trying to make every show i can. that’s a promise.

once again, thanks for listening and being there for me. some of you i consider among my closest friends, and i hope that never changes. you all inspire me and make me want to play more and more.

much peace,
jamie

groundhogs and gray skies

6 more weeks of winter, a new date added with Will King on 2/20, more and better music available for download and MORE!

Wow. There’s sure a lot going on this Groundhog Day…where do I start?

Well ok, woodchucks first (yes, a groundhog is actually the same thing as a woodchuck, not a gopher as i mistakenly thought before checking Wikipedia). So Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, so winter is gonna be sticking around for awhile more…6 weeks if you buy into the legend.

Well, I hate to be the one to remind phurry old phil that spring doesn’t actually start until the vernal equinox…which is more like 7 weeks away on march 20th. But, I guess what phil is really trying to tell us is “don’t break out the shorts and sunscreen quite yet”. Grrr. Thanks Phil.

Speaking of spring (and wishing it was), it looks like a lot of things are coming together. I don’t want to say too much right yet for fear of jinxing anything, but there may be some really cool things in the works. Subscribe here, join the mailing list, follow me on Twitter or Facebook…do something so you don’t miss any news!

On that note, Will King and I had such a good time playing together last month at The Bitter End in NYC, that we’re doing it again. Just confirmed today: We’ll be appearing at the ever so intimate Coffee Labs Roasters in Tarrytown, NY on Saturday Feb. 20th at 8pm. More details to follow, but mark your calendars and come out and have a bit of java and jam out with us!

I just upgraded my account on ReverbNation.com to allow larger files to be uploaded, so I refreshed all of my old MP3s with higher quality (320 kbps) versions which sound much nicer. If you already downloaded them, go back and get the updated versions…your ears will thank you. You can still download “Everything is Nowhere”, “Every Time You Fall” and “Right as Rain” for FREE, and “Olivia” is available for FREE if you sign up as a “fan”.

I also added a new recording of “Like A Wheel” which marks the first recording with me on bass guitar…as well as acoustic and electric guitars, djembe, and vocals. I also did all the editing and mixing…a total DIY project…and while I am not claiming to be really good at alot of these new tasks, it came out sounding good enough that I thought I should share it. You can stream it for FREE from the streaming player, or you can buy the downloadable MP3 for just 80¢. If you buy it, 100% of the profit (50¢) will go to help out people in need in Haiti.

My good friend Angela just overhauled my MySpace page as well…she did such a nice job I can’t stop talking about it. Be sure to check it out and add me as a friend if you haven’t already. Thanks Angie!

Of course, join me every Thursday night at 10PM EST for “Acoustic Brew”, my Live Show on BlogTV.com…and be on the lookout for some special surprise shows on other days as well.

Hope I see everybody soon!

peace,

jamie
