Didgerod and the church of no religion…

As I’m writing this, Didgeod is finishing up his weekly show on BlogTV.com, playing some of the most beautiful music…which vibrates the very essence of my being every time I watch and listen…which is every Monday night.

Watching Didgerod “Thunder Hawk” is really very much like going to church…except there are no false idols or a bunch of rules to follow.  Instead there are just universal vibrations from ancient instruments (that’s what the banner on Rod’s show page says…and it is very truthful).

Each week as I listen and watch (more listen than watch really, my eyes are often closed) I can’t help but reflect on all of the ways I can be a better human and bring more light into the world. Isn’t that what church is supposed to be all about?

So that’s when it struck me…
the church of no religion
follow your heart and the universal vibrations

I typed it into Skype and Julia replied:  “that’s all the religion I need”.

Me too. Thanks Didgerod Thunderhawk.

Didgerod’s Show is Every Monday night at 8PM MST (10pm EST)

Lost in Seattle (Original Song)

This song was inspired by personal experience. A cute hippie girl slipped me a dose on a hot summer day at a Dead show…hours later I found myself wandering aimlessly…a “Fear & Loathing in Seattle” experience, complete with the Space Needle dancing along to the drums. I recently told the story about it on a BlogTV show I was doing, and it inspired me to write about it.

I hope y’all enjoy it…

peace, jamie

ps.I posted the lyrics to this song a few days ago (look down).

“Lost in Seattle”

Hey guys…here’s the lyrics to my latest song which I’ll be playing for the first time on tonight’s show on BlogTV. ( http://blogtv.com/people/jamiegray )

Enjoy and I hope I see y’all there!

Lost in Seattle

It could’ve been anywhere, back in 1995
Was one of the last shows when Capt. Trips was still alive
I was walking around all day down on Shakedown Street
Nothin’ but rainbows and smiles from everyone I’d meet

She was so beautiful, just like that summer day
She quenched my thirst, and gave me a hug as I walked away
‘Bout an hour or so later, I was feelin’ mighty fine
As the sun went down all the colours and rainbows started dancin’ through my mind

Later on in the evening, the drums beating ever loud
Fires burning everywhere, and I got so lost in the crowd
Lost everything and everyone that I knew that afternoon
Found myself lyin’ under a tree howlin’ up at the moon

Next thing I remember I was falling thru a hole in time
Had to get back to the way it was…I went looking for a sign
Maybe flying in a yellow taxicab the Needle dancing in the wind
With the gentle chime of a silver bell and I was back on the ground again

…Chorus…..
And in the darkness, following a broken rainbow
And in the night time I was stumbling through the streets
All the answers…so close that I can almost reach them
Lost in the Seattle night

“Anything” (Original Song)

Here’s the latest YouTube video. This was actually just a jam that turned into a new song. I had to listen to it quite a few times before deciding to release it.

The words were really just an improv and I wasn’t sure I really liked it…but after a a long debate, I decided to let YOU decide.

I hope you enjoy it…let me know what you think.

peace,
jamie

6 String Belief (Son Volt Cover)

This is one of my favorite Son Volt songs, and I think Jay Farrar is one of my favorite songwriters…so it’s fitting that this gets to be my first cover song posted here.

check out more Son Volt at http://www.sonvolt.net

Thanks to MyDeath420 for the idea.

I hope y’all enjoy. peace, jamie

“Like A Wheel”

This is one of my newest songs…and I only half wrote it. The words were gifted to me by one of my BlogTV viewers (Matt Chartrand, aka foApple aka DrawnDead) who emailed me the lyrics after one of my shows.

Thanks man…this is now one of my favorite songs to play.

Like A Wheel – Lyrics

Has your vision come at last,
We keep staring through the glass.
Now youre never going to take,
even the tiniest mistake.
Just the fact that we can’t smile,
I’ll keep holding you a awhile

Until…Now we can see what I cant feel.
Life…keeps spinning round me like a wheel.
Then, the Rain dropped and hit the ground.

Running fast and going slow,
nobodys ever going to know.
Music saved your life before,
now theres so much moreto explore.
Watching clouds beneath your feet,
round we go, doomed to repeat.

The suns goes down then comes the night,
The moon gives comfort in its gentle light.
Fires burning on the ground,
and still its bound to make a sound.
Now shut your eyes and fly,
She whispers softly to yougood-bye.
