Grateful Dead To Release 1981 Show As ‘Dave’s Picks Volume 20’
The show is from Dec 9th 1981 Boulder Colorado CU Events Center.
I was at this show. Jerry fucked up Jack Straw and Bobby tried to ram it back into place…which didn’t work AT ALL. I wonder if they thought about “re-engineering” that part of it…not sure how it could be fixed.
I was at this show. Jerry fucked up Jack Straw and Bobby tried to ram it back into place…which didn’t work AT ALL. I wonder if they thought about “re-engineering” that part of it…not sure how it could be fixed.
As I recall it, Jerry tried to go off on a lead too early and then the lead fell apart, and Bobby tried to bring it back, but started singing the wrong verse and then decided he’d just beat it back into place…and started with “ain’t no place a man can hide Shannon” all off-kilter, forcing everybody to pause and reboot. The rest of the show was pretty amazing as I reflect…Looking forward to hearing this one 🙂
