Think women have it bad now? Women do still get a raw deal in many ways compared with men, it’s true. But for more than 20 years starting in 1916, American women who married foreigners lost their citizenship and faced extradition/deportation. Meanwhile men who married foreign women gave their new brides an instant path to citizenship. Change is good.
