WikiLeaks Cancels ‘October Surprise’ Announcement Over Security Concerns

Funny that the media that IS covering this at all is writing this off as if there was actually no big surprise, and it was just a publicity stunt to boost the 10th Anniversary of WikiLeaks.
Um…that’s just stupid. Think about it.
More plausibly, he was afraid he might get shot if he gave a speech from the balcony of the Embassy as planned. Not like anyone we know with would try and do that, right? **cough-cough-Killary-cough**

Top Climate Scientist: Tax Fossil Fuels to Save Younger Generations’ Future

I disagree with taxing fuels, because the adverse effects of energy tax increases are most heavily felt by the poorest people…shit rolls downhill. Instead, take away tax subsidies to carbon based energy companies and spend the tax incentives on alternative energy development grants.
PS. Government Funded Research should NEVER be allowed to be patented. These developments should be considered open-source. We paid for it already with our tax dollars. Shouldn’t we get to use it for free?

Signal is Most Secure Messenger, ‘Useless Data’ Obtained by FBI Proves It All

Just installed Signal so now I can send encrypted emails to anyone I want and “The Man” can’t do anything about it!
*Evil_Laugh*
*Thoughtful Pause*
Too bad I have no real reason to encrypt my SMS mesages and really no other friends who use Signal…but “Fuck The Man” anyway, damn it!

Yahoo secretly scanned customer emails for US intelligence

If you thought your Yahoo! email was secure, think again. Apparently Yahoo! is the lapdog of three-letter intelligence agencies, and went so far as to build a special scanning tool to assist in the dissemination of their customers’ personal information to those prying spies. Think again before using their email…or search services for that matter. They are NOT going to protect you if they’re building tools to help the NSA. Trust me.
