Testing The Claim That Marijuana Is Safer Than Alcohol Or Tobacco

#News420 Boston radio station WBUR published this article, which tries to look at the issue with clarity, in advance of the upcoming election which could legalize cannabis in Massachusetts and 4 other states.
Any way you look at it, legalizing and regulating is better than black market prohibition. It didn’t work for Alcohol, it doesn’t work for weed.

Ecosexuals Believe Having Sex with the Earth Could Save It | VICE | United States

Well, OK then. Ecosexuals. It’s not April 1st is it? I guess saying “Fuck Mother Earth” is becoming politically correct again? BP could claim they were Corporate Ecosexuals becuase they REALLY fucked Mother Earth hard.
Honestly, I didn’t read this article because …well, why waste the spare minutes? But judging from the picture, I’m not sure Mama Terra is the only one getting some play.
Happy Humpday everybody! 😉

All about performance air intake systems

Depending on your car, a Cold Air Intake (CAI) can boost horsepower by a bunch. The Shark’s CAI gives her 5.7L Hemi a 30HP theoretical bump (from 372HP stock), which seemed overly optimistic to me, but I could feel the difference immediately. I get better gas mileage now too…although the custom tuning and premium gas could be contributing to better MPG. IMO a CAI is the single most cost effective performance upgrade you can buy your “baby”.

The ocean is losing its breath – and climate change is making it worse | Huffington Post

Declines in dissolved oxygen in our oceans and estuaries are global in scale, and climate change is making the issue, long known to be exacerbated by fertilizer and sewage runoff, much worse. The less oxygen means less aquatic life. That’s how it works folks. The oceans are dying…less slowly than ever before.

The Unlikely Battle to Pass the Nation’s First Carbon Tax

Even if you want 100% clean, renewable energy (I do, don’t you?) a Carbon Tax is a REALLY Bad idea. When you tax energy, you tax Productivity. EVERYTHING we produce here in USA ends up costing more if you tax energy production, which is what a carbon tax directly does. This ends up becoming very regressive, hurting the poorest people the most, by inflating monthly bills that they have no choice but to pay (heat, electricity, food, gasoline).
Instead, we should seek to reward good behavior instead of punishing bad behavior…especially since the end user ends up paying the cost. Give tax credits to companies which convert to alternative, renewable energy sources, and cut all credits to anyone who doesn’t (*cough* *cough* *Big Oil*). But don’t add a tax which ends up hurting everyone. Please.
