The feds just gave batteries and rooftop solar panels access to big-time energy markets

Distributed energy is the right answer. IF it’s done right.
Imagine a world where everyone/anyone can be a power producer, and easily sell power back to the grid…don’t you think people will find some creative ways to generate electricity cheaply, sans fossil fuels?
I KNOW they would. Storage and solar is a part of a much bigger picture, but this seems like a step forward to me.

“This rule is going to open that up. It could help kick of a fundamental shift in the way power markets work. Where a few large generators now dominate, soon there may be hundreds, thousands of resources of every size and nature bidding into those markets. Rather than relying on physical scale, DERs will rely on intelligence, on smart, responsive software that links them together and gives them virtual scale. It’s going to be fascinating.”

President Obama’s personal touch to the turkey pardon tradition

Wow. I forgot all about the Turkey pardons. I’ve been so wrong, saying that Obama hasn’t done anything in his 8 years in office. I must apologize. There are 8 Turkeys who are alive today (presumably) thanks to Obama. 8 Turkeys who never had to face the slaughterhouse floor, nor the invitation to a Thanksgiving Dinner that cannot be refused.
There’s something to be thankful for. #ThanksObama
