The First Amendment prevents the Government from “registering” the citizens of this country by religion, or more importantly, from forcing members of ONLY ONE religion to be registered OR ELSE. To single out a group of Americans by religion for “special” investigation or scrutiny, when they have done nothing wrong other than practicing their faith, is in violation of constitutional protections against illegal searches and investigations in addition to religious freedom protections. What are we, Nazi Germany registering Jews? Maybe we can herd all Muslims into internment camps or reservations?
