America’s underpaid-teacher problem, in one chart

We pay teachers about 60% of what they would make in other occupations given the same amount of education. It’s no accident that the SMARTEST teachers, choose to do something else. Why would you possibly choose to earn 40% less money? You’d have to really love kids, (and there are some amazing teachers who do it only for that love of education), or not actually be qualified for those other jobs, to choose to go into teaching in the USA.
You know, if we don’t invest nationally in education, we’ll just keep ending up with more national stupidity.

Man Heads To Trial For Driving Under The Influence Of Caffeine

What the fuck?
First, who the fuck gets arrested for DUI after blowing zero? Second, how the fuck do you justify a DUI for a non-controlled substance? This is what happens when you give an agency too much power for their charter. They end up with too much time on their hands and desperately trying to justify their existence. The California Alcoholic Beverage Control should stick to arresting bartenders for serving someone one too many and shaking down liquor stores for selling to 20 year olds.
