Hollywood is running out of ’80s hits to reboot and only 3 of top 15 earners remain

PLEAASE stop rebooting, remaking, and re-serializing every good thing that’s been done. Have you No original thoughts AT ALL? What the fuck happened to creativity? Has Hollywood become such a corporate political tool, that you can do nothing but regurgitate?
God help us and our kids. Where are the ARTISTS to save us from this HELL?

Nevada races to get recreational marijuana on shelves in record time

#News420
I wish CT was in a rush to legalize like Nevada is. IMO any state that thinks “prohibition” is a better option than “tax and regulate” has their head right up their ass. You are missing out on tax revenue and locking people up because their drug of choice isn’t legal. It’s just wrong, and more often than not, racist.
Imagine a world where beer was illegal. Where if you wanted a beer after work, you had to buy it from a black market source who either brewed it themselves or smuggled in Canadian beer…well, you THINK it’s Canadian, you have no way of actually knowing. More likely, it’s made in a NJ basement.
Crime lords are running the beer market, and violence/murder over beer is an everyday news story on TV. A 12oz Labatts Lite costs $20, and the government makes ZERO tax revenue on illegal beer, instead spending millions to arrest illegal brewers, and bartenders, and beer drinkers. Alcoholics get arrested instead of going to rehab, and the third time in the drunk tank means a 20 year sentence in SuperMax, maybe longer if you’re black and the judge has a racist bend.
OK. Now imagine instead beer was legal. Oh wait. It is legal. Nobody gets arrested unless they do some really stupid shit…like drinking and driving. Everybody makes money and people who have a drinking problem can get help, many times for free if they have health insurance. Oh…and most importantly…beer drinkers get to enjoy their drug of choice without fear of persecution or prosecution.
It’s long past time the same was true about cannabis. Prohibition didn’t work for alcohol in the 20s, and it hasn’t worked for cannabis since the 30s, when it was made illegal for largely racist reasons (and profit). It’s time for change.

No, Stephen Hawking. Let’s Save This Planet Instead of Looking for Another

Let’s be honest for a sec…If we can’t save this planet, we’re just going to fuck up any other planet we move to. There is really no choice but to do the right thing here, and be responsible parasites on our planetary host.
What we really need to do is stop letting idiots with money make our choices for us, and make our voices heard…and legislated. Embrace TRUE democracy (one person, one vote) and get the greedy, idiots out of control…hey, why not send THEM all off into space?

Home Depot Co-Founder Thinks People Use Food Stamps To Buy Marijuana And Cocaine

Wow. Just wow.
The first thing we need to do is stop calling them “stamps”. Anyone who still thinks people are reselling these “stamps” in the street for drugs is living in 1964 to begin with. These days, EFT cards track every purchase, and even the most ignorant can tell you there is very little abuse and virtually no instances of fraud. It just results in people eating. In many cases, it is the only safety net for poor families and single moms, so by all means let’s cut those funds because, hey, why not? The victims of your plans can’t do anything about it, so why not go for it!??
Seriously though. We do understand your need to justify racism and economic discrimination, so feel free to keep calling them “stamps”, and believing that every drug dealer must surely have a card swiper in their pocket to run those EFT cards for a dime bag.
Believe anything you want. But don’t expect us to take you seriously.

Pot luck: Hound Labs raises $8.1 million to combat stoned drivers with cannabis breathalyzers

Are they actually testing it to determine if, when the device says a driver is impaired, the driver actually is impaired? You know, like controlled tests where drivers start out sober and take a scored driving skill test before and after smoking and blow after each run? I am completely dubious that inaccurate testing will make highways less safe while allowing law enforcement to abuse the rights of weed smokers.
If people are truly impaired, they should not be driving. The problem is, the definition of impairment and the nature of THC.
You see, while some people would be unable to function behind the wheel after just a puff or two, there are other people who experience “performance enhancement” from cannabis, and actually drive BETTER when under the influence of a small amount of THC. There are also people who, completely stoned off their asses, are better drivers than the average sober idiot on the highway. While I’m not suggesting that anyone drive around stoned, I think it’s important to note that unreliable tests will only result in lots of acquittals, wasted money, and highways that are not actually any safer.
How about dash/bodycam footage with audio of the vehicle in motion, as well as the suspect performing roadside sobriety tests appropriate for diagnosing THC impairment (like walking a straight line for alcohol) and let a jury decide if their DRIVING and subsequent ACTIONS reflected impairment?
That would be too fucking simple I suppose.
