Turns out, that when you flood an area to build a reservoir, all the shit that used to be there, and the soil itself, start outgassing methane…enough to contribute more than 1% of our global carbon footprint…which is a little weird, since it’s methane, not CO2…which is apparently much worse as a “greenhouse gas”. Think about that the next time you let loose an ass cloud of it.

Nice job folks. Scientists say even if we plant a gazillion trees and all stop breathing, we can’t do anything about the increasing carbon levels? Not great news, but take a little solace in this: We can see temperatures and CO2 levels are both increasing, but there has not, imo been a causal link proven. So maybe we’re wrong and there ARE things we CAN do to slow/reverse this warming trend? #FingersCrossed
