I bet I know at least partly why. West Texas Investors Club, is based in the area. Mike “Rooster” McConaughey and company have been creating all kinds of new startup jobs in a tiny area, so the percentage of jobs that are with startups is like double Silicon Valley…which has millions of jobs, compared to tiny Midland.
