I say stir the pot. Because you are White and Privileged doesn’t make you a bad person…But it does make it hard to understand what it’s like to grow up without it…Unless you make a real effort to share minds and experience with those on the other side. Hard to imagine those kids in Westport CT, white or not, lack privilege, so i imagine their essays would probably paint a picture of how much or little the kids understood about how privileged they are, growing up in one of the wealthiest towns in America. I can see how that would upset the parents who hadn’t done such a great job of getting their kids to understand just how lucky they are. Just sayin’.
