We really need to stop measuring political success and power by how much money is thrown at the candidate or cause. Legal bribery is exactly the problem with American politics, and as long as we perpetuate it, it owns us.
\nWe need campaign finance reform that includes publicly funded elections. Each candidate gets an equal share of the fund, and when it’s gone, that’s it. That way, the MESSAGE will be important, not the MONEY.
\nWe are a democracy…well, technically we’re a democratic republic. Either way, wealthy Americans (or worse, foreigners) and huge corporations should not be able to buy our elections.<\/p>\n
