We pay teachers about 60% of what they would make in other occupations given the same amount of education. It’s no accident that the SMARTEST teachers, choose to do something else. Why would you possibly choose to earn 40% less money? You’d have to really love kids, (and there are some amazing teachers who do it only for that love of education), or not actually be qualified for those other jobs, to choose to go into teaching in the USA.
\nYou know, if we don’t invest nationally in education, we’ll just keep ending up with more national stupidity.<\/p>\n
